What a whirlwind of a week! I’m back from Tribal Massive a changed and inspired dancer. Tribal Massive has become a staple in my dance life, and I’m already planning to return for 2017. I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to study with the greats (Mira Betz, Kami Liddle, Ariellah, Sera Solstice, Sharon Kihara, and Zoe Jakes) alongside 16 other dancers from all over the world. We learned about odd rhythms, shimmied while playing twister, learned about how to costume for our bodies, collaborated, laughed together, cried together, and twerked together. What else did I accomplish? I performed my Breaking Beautiful piece at the Massive Showcase and shared the stage with Mira Betz (!!!!) for Clickbait. I’ve come away with a deeper appreciation for the art of fusion belly dance and motivated for what’s to come in my dance journey.
Major thank you to Tori and Yaniv Halfon for creating a wonderful event and for being the best facilitators of learning and creativity. You can check out more information at Tribal Massive.
What’s next? Art of the Belly! I am so excited to offer my new workshop, Make It Real, as well as debut my new piece, Ghost. I’ll be teaching on Friday from 1:00-2:30pm on how to give an impactful performance, and performing later that evening at 10:10pm. Check out Art of the Belly for more information!
